How do these things happen to me????
My interview is at 2pm. The company wants it downtown instead of their office for confidential reasons. (someone is getting the axe)
I give myself lots and lots of time to get there so I can relax before the interview. (In hindsight I must have some sort of ESP) I decide to drive part way (parking at the Train Station). That way I take the train to the connection @ BWay and go downtown from there. I started my adventure at 1200. Getting to and on the loser cruiser at 1230
Just an itty bitty problem.......Since I am stupid, since I never ride transit, since I didn't bother to check - I got off at the wrong stop. ACK !!! The stop past the B-Way connection: VC. I couldn't figure out why the train wouldn't go any further. I called transit but was told the trains were running fine (not 'you got off at the wrong stop') (Always so helpful those guys) I was supposed to get off at C Dr to get the connection to BWay (head slap!) (of course knowing this NOW just isn't as helpful as it would have been hours ago)
Being in a panic freak out mode I decide to walk. (Of course I have no idea where the fuck I am) Thinking maybe I can get a bus along B. Street to the next train station. Soooo.... I walk and walk and walk...walk a whole 2 fucking km!!!!!!!! I speed walked all the way to Main street! I was so tired and so stressed and my knee was killing me the entire journey. But at least I wasn't late for my interview ;)
The interview was OK but nothing is ever as good as it sounds. Turns out the agency left out the fact that the "rad" company is moving to a new location in 2 months. I googled the distance to the new locale and its still within 15km- a bit further than their current address- but OK. Their web page quotes FLEXIBLE HOURS but they said : in ""theory"" we have flex hours but in ""reality"" we don't. WTF ??? I have a little bit of mixed thoughts.
I was so glad to get home and crawl into a sanitizing hot bath I haven't heard any feedback from the agency about the interview so maybe there is no need to even walk (haha no pun) that road until I get more information. Apparently there were only 2 candidates up for the job. Me & someone else. 50/50 shot.
