Last night I'm playing around on my computer trying to get Sock's blog sorted out. Before I pack it in I decide to check my email. Good thing as there was an email from PayPal telling me 'my dispute has been closed' !! WTF?
I toggle over to my PayPal account and the balance is zero. So then I go back to hotmail to re-read the message. (always in denial). Why is the claim closed? I just filed the thing 4 days ago. I'm baffled by this.
I phone PayPal and ask what's going on. It seems Mr-Rip-Me-Off has decided to refund the full amount of my purchase (nice to send an email explaining). Again I'm like WTF? Obviously this is good news but it caught me off guard. Plus I'm told I can keep the ratty jeans. (?yippee?)
The money is supposed to be in my account by Friday morning. If its not there by noon I'm to call PayPal back to investigate. Now there's the issue of feedback. I'm still leaning to the 'negative'. True I did get my money back but the sticking point for me is that he was not honest in his item description. His settling the matter without contacting me only further acknowledges that he knows he was dishonest. The refund is good on his part but it should never have had to come to that. And why should he be rewarded with anything good? Thoughts?
