US just called and offered me the job! WA-HOO!!!!!! :)
But does it end here? Of course not. The "now employed smirk" on my face was quickly wiped away when I received a call late this afternoon from Mtn. Holy Crap- they are offering me their job! All those years in college and all I could string together was a coherent "huh". My Ma would be so proud.
Considering all the bullshit I had given up on ever hearing back from Mtn. Kath the supervisor (not the nazi HR) and I had a good chat. I guess their hesitation was my"quirky" personality. Although Kath really likes that and wants to work with me, she cautioned me that there are some older more reserved folks in the gang. Like there isn't everywhere? (but I kinda got that impression from the HR Nazi and all the bullshit hoops)
What a whammy. I told her I'd think about it over the weekend. I'm leaning to the US position. They seem more stable. With the recession Mtn has to be sweating it a bit. US also pays more. 3 weeks ago I was drooling for the Mtn job. But the BS about my references and now this comment about "sensitive" people working in their office and please don't offend them kinda ticks me off.
