2011 - Interview 5 - T-Guts

How do you describe an interview?  That went well....  or perhaps ..  That sucked...   This one I shall describe as a  dog fuck waste of time!

It's a three part story so bear wiith me.

Part 1- Interview 1 - (keep in mind this job via the agency) Positon advertised as 'full cycle AP'.  Nice wording for data entry slave.  What an incredible waste of time to go all the way there and find this out right smack in the interview.  Did this loser employer think it was their lucky day? Did they think that with all my vast experience I would settle for such a dull boring low paying position?  Sheesh- morgue all over again. I played along and went thru all the interview questions, smiled and then left. I reported to the agency that the two interviewers were not very forthcoming with info, there was no job description and it turns out to be all data entry.  Told them 'thanks- but no thanks'

Part 2 - Interview 2 - Imagine my surprise to get a call from the agency on Monday saying that T-Guts loves me and they want to see me again and how they are going to discuss the 'real job' this time.  (Uh "real" job?!  WTF?  What was the first interview for??)  Very puzzling.  Apparently the first interview was some type of 'trick' they do to weed out people who don't want to do data entry.  Can this be any more hard to understand?  I'm getting a real uneasy feeling about T-Guts.  I'm sensing alot of sneakyness and dishonesty.  Who wouldn't want those things in an employer?

The agency asked if I could meet with T-Guts on Wednesday.  I said I had a prior appointment and couldn't do that time.  The agency said it was OK as T-Guts had listed a 2nd time option on Thursday.  The interview Thursday was with the same 2 people.  The job was described as a real AP job this time.  Dumb & Dumber asked me a series of basic interview questions.  One was "How much did you make at your last position".  Well I can't lie- that info can be found out.  So I said "43K"  Standard question.  No biggie.

Part 3 - HR phone call.  (This is where it tanks) As soon as I get home I get a call from the T-Guts HR lady.  She wants to have a little chat. Wonder why it wasn't mentioned 20 minutes ago while I was still at the office. HR Lady tells me she has a few interview concerns.  (ooooo kkkaaayyyyyy)

  1. She went over the job description with me (and yet again- the job description is different)  Hmmm....   So I mention that the job she is describing is different from the one I heard about a mere hour ago) Dragon Lady starts back peddaling trying to cover her slip.  (How many job descriptions are there?)
  2. She asked why "I refused" to come for the 2nd interview on Wednesday.  JFC!!!  Refused?  Where is she getting this stuff?  She said they had more than one candidate for this job and those candidates jumped at the chance to interview.  This is unbelievable!  I inform Ms Listening Impaired that I didn't refuse anything.  I had a prior appointment that day.  Further (you fucking ho) the agency said there were 2 choices and the Thursday was the 2nd option. (what is going on???)
  3. Then she moves onto salary. Telling me my salary ""demands"" where too high.  WTF!!!!  Salary demands??? How does answering a question about how much my last position paid become a demand?  That was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back.  I informed her fuher that I had done no such thing.  I told I have many years of experience and am open to fair. market. value.  She said the position pays 36K. I told her that that wage isn't even on the scale of "fair" market value.
Then I called the agency and told them to shelve this once and for all.  This company doesn't have a clue what they are doing.  They tell me several different stories and their own HR- face to the staff- is a stupid rude bitch.
